Weekend events for July 9 and 10

After a break for the 4th of July holiday, we are back to Fleet Racing this Saturday.

All classes with 4 or more boats get a separate start. Skipper’s meeting 10:00 at A-dock and racing starting at 11:00 on the water.

On Tuesday evening, we will have another Sunfish introduction seminar at 5:30 in the main rigging lot. This is a great opportunity to learn where our Sunfish and equipment is stored, how to rig the boats, and an opportunity to sail one for a bit. You are welcome to bring your kids so they can learn as well. Once you learn about the Sunfish, you can demonstrate sailing proficiency to Sailing Director Craig Tourtellot and be approved to take a Sunfish out on your own.

We are expecting sunny skies and high pressure this weekend, probably not unlike the July 4th weekend. Winds are forecast to clock around from N to NE to SE, not a common summertime direction, but there you have it. Should be light around 5 knots, so expect another weekend of teaser winds wherever you can find them. Temps will be in the 80’s.
