Weekend events for July 1st and 2nd:

Get ready for a long weekend! July 4th is Tuesday, and hopefully we all have off work Monday and Tuesday!

We don’t have any racing scheduled for this weekend, but we do have a Full Moon Raft Up scheduled for Saturday. First boat on station in Heron Cove out from the marina should drop an anchor around 7:00. Also, looking further out into the week, we’ve moved our usual every other Tuesday night Sunfish night to Thursday July 6 because of the holiday.

For right now, weather is looking ok for Saturday, and there is a possibility of late day scattered showers. The exact outlook will clear up in the next day or two. Saturday night looks cloudy as of now. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s, seasonable temps. Wind forecasts for the long weekend this far out are not usually very accurate, but it looks like there might be light SW winds on Saturday, and teaser winds Sunday. There’s a greater chance of scattered showers and storms on Sunday, though.

The ULDB Regatta and Picnic was postponed. Unfortunately, the bad weather forecasts got better through the week. But we were vindicated that it did actually rain on Saturday, so the postponement was a good idea. We will be rescheduling the event for July 15, so mark your calendars!
