Let’s Have Some Fun: I’ve been actively sailing for 50 years, and I continue to sail because the sport of sailing is fun. It’s satisfying preparing the boat, it’s enjoyable being on the water and it’s especially wonderful sharing sailing experiences with others. I’m expecting we’ll all have some fun this upcoming sailing season, starting with Fleet Get Togethers over the winter, Boats-In Days, and the NSC Spring Warm-Up early April. I’m anticipating that after our sailing events at the lake, we’ll gather under the tents to share practices and events of the day, allowing our members to have fulfilling experiences.

Teamwork: I’ve recently met with primary members of Fleet Council and discussed developing a team to help with various responsibilities. So please, don’t be shy, be proactive and contact one of the Fleet Council members listed below and indicate your willingness to provide assistance. I firmly believe cooperative NSC teamwork will lead to the successful endurance of the Club.

Sunfish Fleet: During the past several years, use of the Club’s Sunfish has increased. As a result, we are recognizing the “Sunfish Fleet” as an entity in the NSC. Anli Wu will be the first Sunfish Fleet Captain, allowing the fleet to have formal representation on the Fleet Council, as well as someone to provide leadership and keep fleet activities organized. Indeed, please support all fleet captains by helping them to provide rewarding opportunities.

Communication is Key: I and others will provide communication via the NSC Website, our Facebook Group and email messages. If you have any difficulty accessing these forms of communication, please contact Scott Lynch or myself. Likely, we will also create an Instagram page to attract others and hopefully revive the NSC Compass Newsletter. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc., regarding the NSC.
