Nockamixon Sail Club is the Home of Sailors and Sailing at the beautiful 1450-acre lake within the Nockamixon State Park in Bucks County, PA. The Park has a Marina with docks for boats up to 24 ft and a dry storage area for boats on trailers. The Nockamixon Sail Club was established in 1974, shortly after the Lake was filled, to organize activities for sailing at the Lake. The Club serves both Racing and Cruising sailors with a full calendar of events from April to November each year. Racing includes one-design and Portsmouth handicap competitions.  Our fleets include: the Catalina 22, Chesapeake Bay Cruisers, Com-Pac, Flying Scot, Hunter, Impulse 21, Mariner, O'DayPrecision, Thistle and Victoria.

Commodore's Message

Another version of the subject line could be "if you wait for perfection you'll be waiting forever."  The background for this is that as of Friday at 5 PM my boat and all its gear lay untouched since October when I buttoned it up for the winter.  By 8 PM or so the gear and sails made it from the basement to the garage.  I woke up Saturday morning, loaded it all up, and made my way to the lake.  My goal was to make the first start of the May Invitational Regatta at 11 AM.  With some great help from the Flying Scot Fleet Captain, and with a little luck as the start of racing was delayed a few minutes, I made it!  After the morning scramble it felt great to be out on the water, getting the feel of the boat back, and sharing some friendly competition.

My point is that sometimes you just have to say it is better to be out there doing what you love rather than making everything "just right."  I could have spent Saturday cleaning and perfecting the boat.  I do not enjoy these
