Welcome to the start of Summer Season! Because it’s a holiday weekend, the club does not have any racing or cruising events scheduled. However, we will be having our Sunfish Cleanup day on Tuesday, May 30, after work at 5:30. Look for us at the Sunfish storage area or out in the rigging area of the main marina lot, as we get the Sunfish out of winter storage, assess them, and clean them up for the season. Sunfish evenings won’t be too far behind! The weather this weekend looks like it will cooperate and be dry, unless something changes. Temperatures will be in the upper 70’s to lower 80’s and mostly cloudy. Wind forecasts for Saturday and Sunday are mostly from the East at 5 to 10 knots. Monday will likely be dead calm.
We’ve been having some discussion about towing boats with our chase boat. Hilltop Sailor has posted some Flying Scot towing information over on our Facebook Group which all Race Committee people (and racers) are encouraged to look at. Also, we’ll hope to have some more safety information like this at Skipper’s Meetings. Of course, all other members are encouraged to view this information as well, because you never know when you might need to render assistance to another boater out on the lake.
