Hi, everyone! We’ve got a big weekend and more coming up!
On Saturday we have Fleet Racing, where each class with 4 boats gets their own start. Any boat can race as part of Portsmouth Fleet if not a Flying Scot or Thistle. As usual, skipper’s meeting at 10:00 on A-dock with racing at 11:00.
On Saturday evening, we have a scheduled Full Moon Raft-Up in Heron Cove, just out from the marina. First boat on scene should drop an anchor, maybe hoist an NSC burgee. Apparently this month’s full moon is the Strawberry Moon super moon?
On Tuesday evening, from 5:30-7:30, we have a very important event for our Sunfish boat users and Family Fleet. We will have an intro to the Sunfish sailboats that the Club “owns,” including where they are stored, how to rig, launch, and put them away. The Sunfish are available to club members who have been approved by the Sailing Director Craig Tourtellot. Meet up in the main rigging lot and launch area and you will also walk back to our storage sheds located behind the marina rigging lot.
The weather this weekend should be very nice, with lots of sun, low humidity, and temperatures in the upper 70’s to 80º. Winds both days will be very spirited out of the NW, and VERY breezy around 14 knots with gusts over 20 knots. This should be quite challenging conditions given the usual shifts of a NW direction combined with those gusts.
