Weekend events for July 20 and 21:

Well, I think we’re finally going to get a break from our constant heat wave!

This weekend we have 2 events scheduled. First we will have our July Invitational Regatta on Saturday. All boats are welcome to race with a single start. As always, skipper’s meeting is at 10:00 on A-dock, and racing starting on the water at 11:00.

On Sunday evening, we will be having our Full Moon Raft-up. Whoever is first boat in Heron Cove out from the marina at 6:00 should drop anchor, and others can raft up to them.

The weather should be good this weekend, with lower humidity on Saturday, and temps in the high 80’s. Keep an eye out for possible showers. Sunday gets warmer and the humidity starts to increase due to the southerly winds from Saturday. Wind forecast shows 5 to 10 knots from southerly directions on Saturday, and 5 to 7 knots from the west on Sunday.

Sunfish nights every other Tuesday have remained popular this summer, except for this past Tuesday when the storms blew through. And when I say blew, I mean BLEW. Keep your eyes on the club web page calendar for dates.

The 50th Anniversary t-shirt offer has concluded. If you didn’t get an email regarding this, I suggest you check with Membership Secretary Debbie Servantes, because your membership has likely lapsed. If there is a significant number of people wishing to order shirts who did not do so, we can look into opening the store with our shirt provider at some point in the future. I can tell you that next go-round will be more expensive than this past opportunity.

Thanks!

Commodore Brian
