This weekend we have our annual Singlehander’s Regatta scheduled. This is a great event where we encourage anyone to take out one of the club’s Sunfish to race, or bring their own boat typically sailed singlehandedly. This would be boats like Sunfish, Lasers, Force 5s, Optimists, etc. This is not a race for a typically crewed boat such as our Thistles or Flying Scots to be sailed singlehanded. If you would like to race one of the club Sunfish, please email Craig Tourtellot at ctourtel@verizon.net to let him know.
We should see a significant lessening of our smoky issues for the weekend, and temperatures in the lower 80’s, increasing to mid-80’s for Sunday. Wind forecasts look fresh for the race at 8-14 knots, but from a challenging direction of NW, so expect lots of shifts and puffs. Sunday it looks like clouds will increase in the afternoon with the hope of rain on Monday. Winds look to be very light teaser winds on Sunday.
