It’s hard to believe we at the end of August already, but so we are.
This weekend we will be having Fleet Racing on Saturday. This is also noted as a Make-up Regattta day, in case we missed any scheduled Regattas. Gary Bonner, do we need this to be a Regatta day? As usual, skipper’s meeting is at 10:00 on A-dock, with racing beginning on the water at 11:00.
On Tuesday 8/30, we will have perhaps our final Tuesday Night Group Sunfish Sail beginning at 4:30. Note that the start time is earlier because sunset is getting earlier (I hate days getting shorter!) If you or especially your kids are interested in the Sunfish program, please come out to the Marina main launch ramp parking lot/Rigging lot, and look for the Sunfish. The earlier you get the boats rigged, the more time you can sail!
This weekend’s weather forecast is for warm temperatures in the upper 80’s to 90º. Keep an eye out for typical scattered summer storms in the afternoon and evening. This also hold true for Tuesday night. Winds Saturday look like they may be teasers, forecast from 5-6 knots out of the N and NW. Sunday’s winds also look variable swinging from the E to S at 6 to 8 knots. Although it’s very far ahead for the wind forecast, if Tuesday’s forecast holds, we may see ideal WSW winds around 8 knots and falling for the Group Sunfish Sail.
