Hey, everyone, I will be out of town this week, so I’m posting this update early. Yes, it’s the scheduled Worst Weekend of the Year™
Boats must be removed from summer dry slips by end of day Tuesday, 10/15, to make way for winter storage. Although contracts say winter storage begins Sunday, 10/20, the Park says you can park your boats in winter storage starting Saturday, provided the spot is empty. If it’s not, contact the Park office immediately.
Formal Haul-Out Weekend is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday. Members will be on hand to help pull out your boat and unstep the mast. All members are encouraged to come hang out both days and lend a hand. We will have coffee and donuts for the mornings, and hoagie trays for lunch. Bring something to share if you like. I briefly checked weather, which suggests the weekend will be sunny and dry. It will be tempting to get just one more weekend in, but you know what they say about hay: Make it while the sun shines. Of course, if the weather is horrible, we still will have one weekend left before the 31st.
For those of you keeping boats in until the last possible minute, we will keep 1 pressure washer in the club sheds, and we will also keep the chase boat in the marina until the last weekend, in case we have boats that need a tow to the ramps.
Also, please be sure to RSVP for the annual Fall Banquet Sunday, 11/3 at 11:30am at the William Penn Inn. The club underwrites the cost to a reasonable $25.00 for adults. Please RSVP early using the Club Website and PayPal as our transaction processor (you don’t need PayPal account; you can use a credit card if you want) http://nockamixonsailclub.org/content/fall-banquet-2019-rsvp-form
