2013 Shellboats Swifty Sailboat

14' twin fixed-keeled wooden microcruiser sailboat.  200 lbs.  Made of Okoume plywood and spruce.    Sailed on numerous 4 to 15 day cruises on the Chesapeake and Hudson River over the last 3 years.  Sails best as a catboat with mainsail only.  Mainsail can be roller reefed for winds over 15 mph.  Fully-enclosed dry cabin sleeps one.   No leaks.  Hull is solid, no marks or holes, and well maintained under 3 coats epoxy, 2 coats primer, 4 coats paint. "Snoop" is an eye-catcher.  Charm, is an understatement.  Rows 2.2 mph.  Max sail speed is 5.25 mph.  Built-in floation.  Double hatched bow deck allows for handy enclosed anchor storage.  Fun and safe boat with classic looks for sailors who want to cruise with simplicity.  No structural problems.  Stable:  Can stand on side cockpit seats and coamings won't touch water.  Sails in up to 20 mph winds, though ideal in the 5 to 15 range.  What you get:  Complete boat, mast, boom sprit, mainsail.   You'll need: Trailer, rudder, oars.  Delivery pickup would be in Bear Creek (near Wilkes Barre/Scranton - 90 minutes from Lake Nockamixon) with your own standard lightweight boat trailer (e.g. Trailex Light Duty).  See pics by clicking link to the left.  Price:  Free

Free Motor Boat

Once upon a time a long time ago I built a woden 15-5' runabout, plywood coated with epoxy and fiberglass cloth. I put a 70 HP outboard on her and she made a great sky boat. Top speed was about 35MPH. It has sat in my yard for about 30 years so needs repair and motor parts are an uncertain proposition. Hull is sound but windshiled framing must be replaced. Sits on a Little Rider trailer. Easy to toe. This would be a good father sun project. If interested call Jim Thompson 267-483-5923.

Johnson 4 hp outboard

Johnson 2 stroke 4 hp motor, twin cylinder, with gas can. Can be used with gas can or internal tank on top of motor with the flip of a switch. Starts and runs well. She may not be the prettiest motor on the lake, but she'll probably never be stolen! I have an extra prop that goes with motor.

Hobie Cat 16

This is a fun little boat. It's a 1986.  The hulls are a little faded but still very solid. The sails are in great condition. All the rigging is also in excellent condition.  It is rigged with a roller furling jib. It's pretty much ready to sail. Trampoline has been stored inside for many years and is in great shape. The Also included are Kat Boxes that attach in front of the tramp for cooler and storage. I live near Bear Creek Ski Resort. No trailer. $800.   I can't figure out how to upload images here but they are available on Craigslist Allentown.

1964 Sparkman & Stephens Blue Jay with Trailer

1964 Sparkman & Stephens Blue Jay with Trailer.

The Blue Jay is nicknamed a "Baby Lightening," a larger Racing Sailboat designed by Sparkman & Stephens. This boat was built in Lyme Conn for an Executive residing on the Finger Lakes of New York during 1964. All original paperwork (from 1964) is transferred with the boat--- buyer would be the 4th owner in 50 years. Named the "Me Too," she is a "woodie" with Red exterior hull, White deck, Varnished wood inner hull & mast, English-made hardware, and original Sails. She has been owned by 3 "Trailer Sailors" over her 50 years that have sheltered her in barns & garages when not the Lake during a sunny day. The new owner needs rigging for the Spinnaker, to re-craft a wooden Spinnaker pole (a metal pole is provided), and obtain new tires for the Trailer. We only ask that her new home was as pampering as her 3 previous homes so she can make it to 100 years! Best offer gets the boat.
