12' Bateau Skiff/Sailboat

"Goop" is a single chine 12' wooden skiff.  Weighs about 100 pounds.  There's a single rowing station, and the boat has a mast step, and slot for centerboard.   It needs though a fair amount of work - cleaning, sanding, and then either varnishing or re-painting.  It's solid - has never leaked.  Would make a great project for a youngster.  I made this boat in 2007 out of okume plywood and have spent many a happy hour sailing and rowing Goop.  To own "Goop" all you need do is come pick it up.  Click the headline for pics of when "Goop" was in his prime.

Flying Scot Sails and miscellaneous

I have a Flying Scot Mainsail and Jib, that were made by Intensity Sails, free to a good home.  These are good sails for practice, or cruising, but are not really applicable to serious racing.

They are in good condition, and are free to an NSC member, who is also a current member of the Flying Scot fleet

i also have a set of spinnaker sheets, one red and one green, setup for the on-deck spinnaker setup, and a set of 2 to 1 white jib sheets.  All are 1/4" Trophy Braid.  They have been used, but are in usable condition.  For details, see Flying Scot Inc website.

Free to NSC Flying Scot Fleet members.

Lightning hull number 10,828.  This is a fiberglass hull made in the early 1970's.  The mast is aluminum.  The boom, rudder/tiller are wood.  The boat comes with a good set of sails from the mid 1980's (see pics) and it is ready to sail.  The boat is in Telford PA.

I installed cam cleats on stainless steel mounts for the jib (pictured) and added an outboard motor mount which is partially removable (also shown).

The mast has a tabernacle and I installed a block on the trailer mast holder so I could use the wench attached to the end of the front stay to assisting raising the mast. The boat comes with a Sailors Tailor mooring cover and a frame I made to support it when the boat is not in use (shown)...  The cover is getting old and may have on a season or two left in it.  A new one can be acquired here: boat also comes with hiking straps.  I removed them to clean the boat and did not re-install.The boat is currently on a trailer that is getting worn out.  The boat comes with a newer and in good condition galvanized trailer (registered) originally from an American14.  The new owner will need to haul it away on the current trailer, drop it in the water and put it on the included newer trailer. Please see photos here: cell 215-805-8349 $1,200 or best offer
