Racing at NSC
The Nockamixon Sail Club competitive racing calendar starts in mid April and runs through Mid October. The Club sponsors several different types of races during the sailing season:
Fleet Racing
The club has three very active one design fleets - Thistles, Flying Scots and Impulse 21's.
In addition, the club also hosts a Portsmouth Racing Fleet. This fleet uses the US Sailing Portsmouth Yardstick program for scoring.
Invitational Regattas
In addition to Fleet Racing, the club hosts invitational regattas throughout the sailing season. These events use a single start for all competitors, and the RYA Portsmouth Yardstick system allows for rating the boats to an even playing field.
The late May Invitational Regatta has been named the Victor Jaczun Regatta in honor of the founding father of our club. Invitational regattas allow club members and visitors to race in a one day event and receive awards afterwards.
Come out and share in the fun. Invitational Regattas are open to all sailors. What better way to enjoy the sun, the water and just plain sailing at Lake Nockamixon.
Club Picnic and Regatta
In June, we hold our Up-the-Lake-Down-and-Back Event, or ULDB. This event features a regatta with separate starts for cruising and racing boats. The regatta is followed by a club picnic, open to all members.
U.S. Sailing
The Nockamixon Sail Club is a proud member of U.S. Sailing and encourages everyone to join.
