         NOCKAMIXON SAIL CLUB – 9/18/17 Meeting Minutes

Opening remarks – Brian Scarborough

·         Meeting start – 7:00 pm

·         Minutes from 3/6/17 – unavailable, no objections

·         No old business

·         Reports

·         Rear Commodore Racing – Discussion: Consider reducing the number of race days and eliminate Sunday racing. No decision.

·         Rear Commodore Cruising – no report

·         Treasurer

o   PayPal has taken off and is most likely the reason for the increase in membership which has reached an all-time high of 161 members 54 of which are new. Decision tabled on the need to email membership about PayPal use and include instructions

§  Craig Tourtelott motioned to continue PayPal. Laurine Valenti seconded

o   Fall banquet – Sunday 11/2/17 11-2pm – Increase in price/person

§  Tom Smith made a motion to approve a $15 subsidy to keep membership cost to $25/person. Seconded by Marsha Cooper

o   Income/Expense – has remained about the same

o   Discussion about purchasing a new pontoon boat and selling ours. No decision made

·         Communication

o   Newsletter includes Fall Banquet notice

o   Officers to review web content to determine how to simplify and eliminate content that is too old

o   More discussion is needed about the need for more club visibility at the lake. Should we purchase a popup canopy and/or flags

o   More discussion is needed about NSC visibility on Facebook

·         Open Fleet Council Positions – Brian Snader (Quartermaster). Also Craig Tourtelott (Communications) offered to exit his role. Discussion: Colin Hannings (Rear Commador of Cruising) could potentially be interested in transitioning to Admiralty. If so, a potential candidate for his current position could be Greg Morrison. Other candidates (Bruce Idleman and Paul Servantes) for Admiralty were also presented

·         Events – Email is needed to announce that the Ladies Dam Race moved to 9/23/17.
