NOCKAMIXON SAIL CLUB – 4/15/2025 Meeting Minutes

  • Meeting start – 7 pm
  • Attendance:  Gary Bonner, Brian Scarborough, Scott Lynch, Paul Servantes, Debbie Servantes, Scott Daniels, John Whelden, Warren Mangan
  • Treasurer – Frank Fisher (Absent)
    • No financial report at this time.
    • Brian noted that the insurance has been paid.
  • Membership Secretary – Debbie Servantes
    • Approximately 70 members have renewed for 2025 so far. However, those members that renewed prior to the 2025 memberships being available are showing as Expired. This needs to be addressed.
    • Another reminder for renewals will be posted on Facebook in the next few days.
  • Vice Commodore – Position vacant
  • Rear Commodore Racing – Gary Bonner
    • The permit has not been issued yet. Gary is waiting for the Regional office to approve the fee waiver. The service project has been completed which should satisfy the requirement for the fee waiver.
    • Gary has advertised for race committee members. There have been 14 or 15 responses so far.
    • The race events have not been posted on the club calendar yet.
    • Gary will order trophies for the regattas and the ULDB race.
  • Rear Commodore Cruising – Paul Servantes
    • Launch took place on Sunday due to closure of the ramps on Saturday.
    • Sunfish clean up is scheduled for 5/20 and the first Sunfish sailing event is scheduled for 5/27.
  • Communication – Scott Lynch
    • Scott will connect with Bruce to address the early renewals.
  • Quartermaster – Scott Daniels
    • The club boats are now in the water. However, the chase boat is experiencing performance issues.
    • The cable for the mast raising pole has been replaced.
    • The pontoon boat has received 2 coats of epoxy and anodes to prevent corrosion.
    • A new sign has been installed at the marina using vinyl wrap.
    • Scott will obtain launch permits for the sunfish prior to the cleanup in May.
