NOCKAMIXON SAIL CLUB – 1/13/2026 Meeting Minutes
- Meeting start – 6:30 pm
- Attendance: Dan Reasoner, Brian Scarborough, Paul Prozillo, Gary Bonner, Scott Daniels, Warren Mangan, Frank Fisher, Anli Wu, Marilyn O’Connell, Debbie Servantes, Paul Servantes, Scott Lynch, Craig Tourtellott
- Review/Approval of Minutes:
- Minutes from the previous Fleet Council meeting and notes from the Annual Meeting were approved.
- Treasurer – Frank Fisher
- Year end financials have been distributed to Fleet Council members.
- 2025 resulted in a loss of $1,012.
- There is a projected loss of $1,515 for 2026 based upon current levels of membership.
- An audit needs to be scheduled. It has been set for 6pm on February 18th (prior to the start of the Fleet Council meeting).
- Club Officers Reports
- Commodore – Dan Reasoner
- The emphasis this year should be on fun, teamwork and communication.
- We should think about organizing a get together after each scheduled event.
- Each member of the Fleet Council should enlist one or two people to help them with their NSC tasks.
- As not everyone uses Facebook, it is important for members to check the calendar frequently.
- It was noted that the Sunfish is now recognized as a fleet.
- Vice Commodore – Marilyn O’Connell
- The Spring Warm Up is scheduled for April 11th 6-9pm at the Gathering Place in Quakertown.
- Options for catering are being considered. The budget for this event was set at $2,500 – $3,000.
- The ULDB is scheduled for June 27th.
- A Save The Date will be sent out/posted for both events
- Rear Commodore Racing – Gary Bonner
- The permit process is underway and a list of racing dates has been circulated.
- Conflicts with other events at the lake have been noted with the exception of fishing tournaments. These will be identified and noted.
- The number of races may need to be cut down due to the lack of participation on the race committees. It was suggested that 2 fleet days are removed from the calendar as they have the least participation.
- The race scheduled for 4/25 has been moved to 5/30.
- Rear Commodore Cruising – Paul Servantes
- The calendar has been updated for launch day, sunfish clean up, sunfish sails and haul out.
- It was suggested that additional dates are added for sunfish sailors who are interested in the Single Handed race.
- Dan would like to see more ad hoc cruising events.
- Paul will look into the possibility of some technical events for cruisers.
- Gary will order trophies for the Single Handed and Paxton racing events.
● Membership Secretary – Debbie Servantes
- Total membership for 2025 was 110. (80 cruising members and 30 racing members).
- This is a decrease from 2024 and 2023 when there were 140 and 158 members respectively.
- The above totals included 28 new members in 2025, 47 in 2024 and 35 in 2023.
- 2026 memberships are available on the website.
- Quartermaster – Scott Daniels
- The club boats will go in the water the first full week of April.
- Oil changes are recommended.
- Scott does not anticipate any major boat expenses this year.
- There needs to be an inventory of all club equipment.
- Communications – Scott Lynch
- The website still needs to be decoupled from Dave Strzempek’s server.
- Scott will get together with Bruce, Brian and Dave to address the website issues.
- The Mailchimp database needs to be updated to reflect current membership.
- Dan asked if the is a way to capture names and emails of family members.
- Dan would like to see a membership directory available to all members
- Race results on the website reflect 2020 data. Scott will look into a process for updating this.

- Admiralty – Jim Gill (Absent)
- Admiralty – Angela Rowland (Absent)
- Admiralty – Paul Prozillo
- Nothing to report.
- Admiralty and Park Liaison – Warren Mangan
- Warren will ask Liam, the Assistant Manager, about a service project for this year.
- The Friends of Nockamixon have an Earth Day event on 4/26 which the club could help out with.
- Thistle – Tony Stuart (Absent)
- The Thistle fleet has a meeting scheduled for February.
- Flying Scot – John Wheldon (Absent)
- Portsmouth – Craig Tourtellot
- Sunfish – Anli Wu
- Anli asked if a sub-group could be created on the website for the sunfish sailors.
- It was suggested that a group could be created in WhatsApp for the Club with sub-groups for the different fleets. Dan will look into this.
- Proposed Borrowed Boat Guidelines will be distributed and voted on at the next meeting.

- NEW BUSINESS
- A proposed change to the Constitution regarding notice of meetings to include email was discussed and will be voted on at the next meeting.
- A change to the By Laws regarding a change to the accounting close date (from October 31st to December 31st) was voted upon and agreed by all.
