ULDB race and picnic this weekend!

By bscarborough - Posted on 14 June 2017

Everyone, this Saturday is the Club's premiere event, the "Up the Lake, Down and Back" race and picnic. You may have already seen messages from Co-Vice Commodore Marsha Cooper. I believe we currently have 90 people signed up! If you have not RSVPed with Marsha, shame on you. But I'm sure we'll have plenty if someone sneaks in under the wire.

The weather forecast is saying a 40-50% chance of rain showers, and possible isolated thunderstorms after 3:00. This is a typcial summer forecast for us. I can't say how many great sailing days I've had with a 50% rain forecast. We will not be rescheduling, given how involved this event is to organize. Rain or shine! Wind should be light ESE and SSE directions, 4-6 knots. Again, a typical summer Nockamixon drifter.

Meet at the lake at 8:30 to move picnic tables and set up the 2 big tents (so rain won't be a big problem anyway.) Skipper's meeting will be at 10:00 with racing starting at 11:00. There will be a longer racer's course, and a separate start with shorter course for cruisers. Picnic will follow. Bring along your favorite dish to share.
