You are hereSaturday Racing
Skippers meeting at 10am at Dock A. First race at 11am. Last race will not start after 3pm.
Racing is on for Saturday, although setup for the triathlon will complicate rigging and launching. The setup will occupy the upper half of the rigging parking lot, the drive along the lake-side of the lot to the launch ramp, and the ramp and water between the point and closest dock (they will have divers inspecting the area). They will also be setting buoys from the launch ramps, around the point, and up the lake toward the fishing pier. Aerial photos of past setups are here: http://www.steelmantriathlon.com/pdf/2012%20STEELMAN%20Swim%20Course.pdf
Thistles and Flying Scots are scheduled to race on Saturday and things could get a bit congested in the rigging lot. We will also need to both enter and exit the launch ramp area from the marina side, so we will need to coordinate traffic into and out of the area. We should also give any setup activities in the water a wide berth. The Hobie Cats that are sailing with us on Saturday will be launching from the Tohickon ramp and will not be affected by the setup activities.
NSC will be helping with the "Randy Payne Memorial Benefit Regatta" hosted by Hobie Fleet 416.
Randy Payne and his family lived for many years in Ringoes, NJ and were an important part of Fleet 416. They moved to Cape May about 10 years ago, but continued Hobie 16 and 14 racing in Division 11. Randy was a good friend and fast competitor for us all, but he unfortunately passed away this Spring. This one day regatta is to raise some money for the Randy Payne Fund, which will benefit his family and help settle some medical bills. The entry fee is $50 per boat. All of this money will go to the Randy Payne Fund.
Eligibility: Open to all Hobie cat classes with a Portsmouth Rating. No need to be a member of Fleet 416 or IHCA. Scoring will be based on Portsmouth adjusted times.
